2nd International Lightweighting Summit at HANNOVER MESSE

Lightweighting is one of the key enabling technologies of the 21st century. It stands for a simple principle: less weight, less energy and emissions, and enhanced functionality. Beyond this, lightweighting is a strong driver of innovation that has the potential to dramatically improve resource efficiency and energy efficiency. This is equally important for our environment, our climate, and the competitiveness of the German economy. For all of these reasons, lightweighting will have a key role to play in tackling global challenges.

In order to give a platform to the versatility of lightweighting, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is hosting the Lightweighting Summit during the HANNOVER MESSE. It is being cohosted by Deutsche Messe AG and the Lightweighting Initiative.

The 2nd Lightweighting Summit will take place on the virtual international stage as part of the HANNOVER MESSE. Topics at this international top meeting of policy-makers, business representatives and the research community are the importance of lightweighting, the competitive situation in the international comparison, and enhanced European networking on the key technology of lightweighting.

So please add the event from 2 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. on 13th April 2021 to your diaries so that you can participate virtually.
