Annual Network 2018
Two panels with top-class guests as well as a big accompanying exhibition were just some of the highlights of this year’s annual network event of Niedersachsen Aviation.
The year’s closing event of Niedersachsen Aviation took place on 18 December 2018 in the Business-Area of the HDI Arena in Hanover. Again, it provided a networking-platform for the aerospace industry in Lower Saxony, which was attended by approximately 120 participants who established their contacts, talked about similar approaches and discussed the future of the aerospace industry in Lower Saxony.
In the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Niedersachsen Aviation, Stefan Schröder, project director, opened the event by reviewing the achievements that were made with partners on a regional, national and international basis and took the challenges, who will appear according to the results of a survey, into account.
The speech of Prof. Dr. Jens Friedrichs (TU Braunschweig), who talked about the Exzellenz-Cluster„SE²A-Sustainable and Energy Efficient Aviation“ and the research about interdisciplinary technologies for a sustainable development of aviation, was followed by a panel covering aspects of the future of the aerospace industry in Lower Saxony. Besides Prof. Dr. Jens Friedrichs, Prof Dr. Joachim Block (DLR), Prof. Dr. Berend Denkena (Universität Hannover) and Dr. Gunnar Merz (CFK Valley e.V.) were involved in the discussion.
Within the second panel Marc Brestrich (Deharde GmbH), Gunnar Groß (Airbus Operations GmbH), Dr. Raoul Hille (Flughafen Hannover-Langenhagen GmbH) and Bernd Schröder (Broetje-Automation GmbH) discussed several topics regarding production sites in Lower Saxony.
Afterwards, Stefan Muhle, state secretary in the Lower Saxony ministry of economics, labor, transport and digitization, talked about political engagement of the state government in terms of the aerospace industry. Therefore, he announced, that the state would be supporting the sector with 3 Million Euro in 2019.
Furthermore, parallel to the lecture program, a big accompanying exhibition took place at the location. This year, more than 25 exhibitors presented their products, services and researches not only to the participants but also to the state secretary who visited the stands of the companies, research institutes, networks and sites.
