AERO 2019
From April 10th to 13th, 2019 the 27th AERO took place in Friedrichshafen. Numerous companies from Niedersachsen are again using the leading trade fair for general aviation in Europe this year to present their innovative products and services. As a result, the great innovative power of companies from Niedersachsen in the field of general aviation and the distinctive corporate landscape in Niedersachsen became clear once again.
Business aviation and e-flight were particularly in focus this year at Lake Constance. Both are areas in which some companies of Niedersachsen are also writing or continuing to write success stories. Thomas Strieker (Flywhale Aircraft GmbH & Co. KG) and Dr. Nicolas von Mende (Atlas Air Service AG) during her keynote speeches as part of the "General Aviation made in Niedersachsen" networking event.
The event, organized by the state initiative on the first day of the fair, took place in the East Conference Center on the fairgrounds and was aimed equally at network partners and those interested in the location. The interest was great. Around 40 participants took the opportunity to find out more about Niedersachsen as a general aviation location, discussed the keynote speeches by the two company representatives and exchanged views with other stakeholders on current developments and opportunities for cooperation.
AERO 2017
As the annual meeting place for general aviation, AERO Friedrichshafen is the platform for innovations and a source of inspiration for the entire industry. The keys to AERO Friedrichshafen's success are its extensive global network and collaborations with key aviation and manufacturers' associations. These help to ensure that the central topics of general aviation are the focus of AERO Friedrichshafen. Accompanying side events provide crucial added value for the entire industry.
The AERO 2017 featured the complete range of gliders, ultralight single- and twin-engine aircraft, business jets, helicopters and gyrocopters. In addition, E-Flight Expo, Avionics Avenue, Engine Area, "Be a Pilot" and UAS Expo/AERODrones for civilian drones and unmanned aircraft were once again present at this year's show, along with several special areas and the second-hand aircraft market. During an air show at the press conference, several electric-powered aircraft made their silent laps in the skies above the exhibition center. As part of an oil spill exercise on Lake Constance, the fire department demonstrated an operation with drones.
The joint booth of Niedersachsen fulfilled its intended character as a networking platform. The large number of interested visitors was evidence of the high reputation and importance of general aviation in Niedersachsen. New contacts and cooperations were constantly established by visitors and exhibitors during the four days of the trade fair. In addition, young companies showed great interest towards settling in Niedersachsen. This can also be attributed to Niedersachsen's excellent funding landscape.
Furthermore, the mutual support for neighboring companies from Niedersachsen was excellent - the largest exhibit from Niedersachsen was the new Flywhale, displayed at the booth of Flywhale Aircraft GmbH & Co. As an additional highlight, AutoGyro presented its new gyroplane MTOsport.
AERO 2015
23rd AERO in Friedrichshafen: A new exhibitor record, the premiere of the Aviation and Pilots Competence Center and the continuation of proven special shows once again made the 23rd AERO in Friedrichshafen a must for all aviation enthusiasts. The focus of interest was on the aircraft: the spectrum ranged from gliders to ultra-light single- or multi-engine piston aircraft, turboprops and business jets to gyroplanes and helicopters. In addition, the established special areas Avionics Avenue, e-flight-expo and Engine Area continued.
The aviation and logistics location Niedersachsen was again in 2015 with a joint stand at the AERO from 15.04. to April 18, 2015 in Friedrichshafen in Hall B3 – Stand 209.
A special highlight was the world premiere of the Carplane at the stand of Niedersachsen.
AERO 2013
The joint stand at the 22nd AERO Freidrichshafen offered companies and research institutions from Niedersachsen attractive opportunities to present their products and services to an international audience.
At the end of the trade show, Klaus Wellmann, head of the trade show, and Roland Bosch, AERO project manager, drew an extremely positive conclusion about the course of the trade show: "At the aviation quality summit with 630 exhibitors from 35 nations, the range of products and services was not the only thing that was right, the response on the customer side also caused satisfied faces to appear. 32,600 visitors (2012: 30,800) - 70 percent highly qualified international trade visitors - expressed great interest in new aircraft, technical innovations and the numerous technical presentations. One trade magazine reported that there had never been so many type certificates for new aircraft at an international air show." *
