Treffen bei Broetje-Automation in Rastede: Mitgliedertreffen des AHOI_MINT Clusters NordWestOn November 8th, the members of the AHOI_MINT Cluster NordWest met for a joint exchange at the company Broetje-Automation GmbH in Rastede. STEM project in Robotics

As the host of this year’s meeting, CEO Lutz Neugebauer welcomed the members present, who were given an insight into the production of state-of-the-art automation and robotics solutions for the aerospace industry during a factory tour and were also able to see a STEM project in robotics for students.

The more than 50 cluster members present exchanged ideas intensively about how the AHOI-MINT project can be further developed in the future and how new members can be recruited. In total, more than 80 members from the fields of education, business and administration are already working together in the AHOI_MINT project. They actively support the project and, among other things, bring mobile services to the region.

Lutz Neugebauer (CEO Broetje-Automation): “As a globally active high-tech company, our employees are our most important asset. AHOI_MINT is the perfect platform for us to make our contribution to getting young students excited about technology. “

“We are also planning AHOI_MINT events in the future, such as festivals or AHOI_MINT days in the region. In February 2024, for example, there will be a AHOI_MINT day in Aurich,” says Jasmin Fresemann, network coordinator AHOI_MINT, Schlaues Haus Oldenburg.

Christian Wilbers (Head of Press CEWE Color CEWE Stiftung & Co. KGaA): “AHOI_MINT not only promotes STEM sustainability in the northwest, the project also sheds light on the many companies that are already internationally successful with high tech – such as Broetje automation. As a region, we can be very proud of this.”

The educational project AHOI_MINT aims to give all young people between the ages of 10 and 16 in the region of northwestern Lower Saxony the opportunity to participate in extracurricular STEM activities. In order to achieve this goal, stakeholders from science, business, civil society and public administration from northwestern Lower Saxony have joined forces. Together, they want to link existing STEM offerings and existing networks in such a way that an interactive, learning STEM region is created. The aim is to enable children and young people to follow individualised learning paths through the network, even over longer periods of time. Individual further learning at the learning venues of the network should be based on the interests and talents of the children and young people.

Responsible for the AHOI_MINT project are the project partners Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, the Research Center NorthWest for Pupils e.V., the State Museum of Nature and Man Oldenburg and the OFFIS e.V. – Institute for Computer Science. The project is coordinated by the Schlaue Haus Oldenburg.

They are supported by over 90 other partners from the region, including schools, extracurricular learning venues, companies and cities and districts.
