ILA 2022
This year, the Berlin International Aerospace Exhibition took place from June 22nd to 26th with a new hybrid concept at BER Airport. Under the motto "Pioneering Aerospace", the ILA Berlin covered the entire spectrum of the aerospace industry with the Aviation, Space, Defense & Support and Supplier sectors. With a focus on innovations, technologies and sustainability, the ILA Berlin was once again the meeting place for international industry, politics, the armed forces, business and science this year.

As with the successful trade fair appearances of recent years, the state of Niedersachsen presented itself at the ILA Berlin 2022 together with the state of Bavaria - bavAIRia e.V. and the northern German states in a triple chalet. Numerous companies, research institutions and networks from the partner countries used the communication platform "Gemeinschaftsschalet Niedersachsen, Bayern und Norddeutschland" for talks with business partners, customers and representatives from politics and committees. Aerodata, Airbus, Aljo, Broetje-Automation, Deharde, Braunschweig Research Airport, Hannover Airport, Invent, MTU Maintenance Hannover, Premium Aerotec, SE²A and TUI fly were there from Niedersachsen.

The joint chalet was once again one of the central contact points for decision-makers from industry, science, politics and administration and the location for various events. On the first day of the fair, a delegation of US buyers was received in the chalet and accompanied on the subsequent tour of the fair, where the EACP Innovation Forum was on the agenda, among other things. As part of this, the Lower Saxony company Coldsense Technologies was presented with the EACP Sustainable Innovation Award. The Bavarian evening reception by bavAIRia rounded off the first day of the fair in the community hall.

The second day of the fair was marked in the community hall by political visits from the five northern German federal states as well as by the federal government's coordinator for German aerospace, Dr. Anna Christman. During discussions in the chalet and during a tour of the fair, the State Secretary in the Niedersachsen Ministry of Economic Affairs, Dr. Berend Lindner the opportunity to find out about current developments in companies and in research. The booths of MTU, AeroSys and the German Aerospace Center were on the program for the Niedersachsen Ministry of Economics' tour of the trade fair. At the end of the chalet day, the Airbus country dialogue took place with the North German country representatives and a subsequent inspection of the Beluga XL on the static display. In the evening, the five economic departments of the North German federal states invited to the North German evening reception at the Representation of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg at the Federal Government.

The third and last trade visitor day offered interesting discussions with company representatives in the chalet, in addition to numerous political accompaniments and various delegations.

ILA 2018
From April 25 to 29, 2018, the ILA Berlin, one of the most important aerospace trade shows, was held at the future capital city airport in Schönefeld. Niedersachsen Aviation presented itself for the first time on a joint stand with the other northern German states at the International Supplier Center ISC and, as in 2016, with the other northern German states as well as Bavaria in a joint chalet.

This year's ILA Berlin was attended by around 180,000 visitors, 30,000 more than at its last edition in 2016. The number of exhibitors also grew positively. Among the 1,100 exhibitors, Niedersachsen Aviation had a strong presence at the innovation trade show for the fifth time in 2018.

Together with the other North German states, Niedersachsen presented itself for the first time with a joint stand at the International Supplier Center ISC. The North German cooperation between Hamburg, Bremen, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Lower Saxony was again experienced at the second joint appearance in a chalet, where the long-standing cooperation with Bavaria was also successfully continued.

The triple chalet was open and modern in design and once again provided an ideal communication platform for the partners involved to talk to business partners, customers and representatives from politics and committees. In addition, the chalet offered an excellent view of the airfield and the airshow.

In the course of this trade show participation, the North German Ministers and Senators for Economic Affairs also invited guests to the joint North German Evening, which this year took place at the State Representation of Bremen. On the evening of the second day of the trade show, Bremen's Senator for Economic Affairs, Labor and Ports, Martin Günthner, welcomed the numerous representatives from politics, business, science and administration to the joint networking event.

ILA 2016
From June 1 to 4, 2016, the ILA Berlin Air Show, one of the world's most important aerospace trade shows, opened its doors at the future capital airport in Schönefeld. Niedersachsen Aviation presented itself for the first time under a common umbrella of the northern German states on a joint stand and in a joint chalet.

Around 150,000 trade and private visitors attended the international aerospace trade show. Among the 1,017 exhibitors, Niedersachsen Aviation had a strong presence at the fair for the fourth time. Northern Germany presented itself as an active competence region and, with its joint stand, offered a generous communication area for companies, research institutions and networks as well as for their guests. For the first time, the northern German states of Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Bremen and Lower Saxony also made a joint appearance on a chalet in the open exhibition area with an excellent view of the airfield and the airshow. In this context, we successfully continued our long-standing cooperation with Bavaria.

The highlight of the North German cooperation was the official signing of the cooperation paper on the cross-state promotion of research, development and innovation by the five North German ministers or senators for economic affairs.

The reception for all the northern German states and their industry representatives at the Niedersachsen State Representation in Berlin completed the ILA presentation. The reception was attended by around 400 participants from politics, business and science on Thursday evening. Olaf Lies (Minister for Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport of Niedersachsen), Brigitte Zypries (Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy) and Dr. Klaus Richter (Chief Procurement Officer Airbus Group & Airbus S.A.S.) addressed a special welcome to the guests.

In addition, we were particularly pleased to welcome the winning class of the first prize of the BDLI's young talent initiative "juri" to the North German joint stand. The cross-grade group from Moorriem Elementary School in Elsfleth spent two months exploring the various facets of aerospace. The projects ranged from homemade spacesuits and their own designs for rocket cockpits to presentations in the form of TV shows. The students received their prize during their visit to the ILA. We are delighted that an elementary school of Niedersachsen won the prize and warmly congratulate the students.
