20. Tag der Deutschen Luft- und Raumfahrtregionen in Hannover

20th Day of German Aerospace Regions

EXPERIENCE. TRANSFORMATION. FUTURE.

The Day of German Aerospace Regions is a key platform for exchange among representatives from industry, small and medium-sized businesses, research, politics and the regions. Each year, it brings together leading decision-makers to discuss current challenges and actively shape the future of Germany’s aerospace sector.

Held under the motto “Experience. Transformation. Future.”, this year’s event marked a special anniversary. It is jointly organised by the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI) and the associations and clusters that make up the BDLI Regional Forum. More than 400 participants from industry, research, politics, the German Armed Forces, associations and regions attended the 20th edition, held in Hanover on 22 September 2026. The turnout was exceptionally strong.

The anniversary event focused on the major questions facing our industry: How can we draw on our experience and expertise to drive transformation? How can we strengthen technological sovereignty and competitiveness? And how can we work together to shape the future of civil and military aerospace in Germany?

Leading speakers addressed current challenges on high-profile panels. In their welcome addresses, Federal Research Minister Dorothee Bär, the Federal Government’s SME Commissioner Gitta Connemann and Lower Saxony’s Minister for Economic Affairs Grant Hendrik Tonne once again highlighted the industry’s importance and innovative strength.

A preview of the extensive aerospace industry and research capabilities in the Hanover–Brunswick–Göttingen–Wolfsburg metropolitan region was provided by pre-event visits to ACC Columbia Jet Service GmbH and Hannover Airport, Arconic Extrusions Hannover GmbH, AutoGyro GmbH, IPH – Institute for Integrated Production Hannover, Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. and Niedersachsen ADDITIV, as well as MTU Maintenance Hannover GmbH. The accompanying exhibition, featuring more than 40 companies and research institutions from across Germany, once again demonstrated the breadth of expertise in the country and the particularly strong innovative capacity of its small and medium-sized businesses. It also provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and establish potential partnerships.

The same was true of the evening reception hosted by the State of Lower Saxony and opened by Melanie Walter, Lower Saxony’s Minister for Federal and European Affairs and Regional Development. Participants continued the day’s conversations in a relaxed setting and brought the day to a close.

The discussions and conversations once again made it clear: the future takes shape where expertise comes together, partnerships grow, and exchanges lead to concrete ideas and projects.

Our heartfelt thanks go to all the speakers, exhibitors, partners and supporters who made this anniversary event possible—and, of course, to our guests for their interest, conversations and insights. A review of the 20th Day of German Aerospace Regions can be found here: Recap-Film.
